This is the region of Grash of the continent Malar in the continent Elantis. The region Grash is just one tiny part of the continent.
Five years ago, the most-recent war ended. The faction(s) that went to war performed the war off to the east; now the combatants are filtering back into this area, settling down, finding a peaceful life.
One line segment of the border of a hex is one hard days' travel. It takes two days to cross a hex. Based on the "Travel Pace" table in the PHB, one day's travel at a normal pace is 24 miles, at a fast pace 30 miles.
Locations
The Havens' directional names are askant from the normal compass directions.
- South Haven: The Scaled Haven is home to Dragonborn, Tortles and Lizardfolk, in the archipelagos and forests of the northwest. Controlled by the Scaled Legion in the Roman style, with two praetors, who are the heads of governmnent. Their gods are tiered. Vurguron is from here.
- North Haven: The Dwarves, Goliaths, and Aasimar live here in the mountains in the southeast. The Dwarves are ruled by an emperor; the goliaths are tribal.
- West Haven: Predominantly Elvish, this Haven presides over the northeastern forests. The Woven Council has three main leaders: two high elves and a wood elf, with roving ambassadors and consultants who are invited into the council chambers as needed.
- East Haven: There's not much political power in this swampy area; there's peace but no centralization. It's a land of citystates and self-regulation. Bugfood is from this general area.
Equidistant from the Havens, in the middle of the region of Grash, is the Quadroads: the crossroads of civilization, full of halflings and gnomes.
Other towns of note:
- Zennar, on the southern border of the desert, is the last bastion of civilization before the deserts to the North. Nomads of the region are based there.
- The Sky Diamong Academy, for wizards, in the forests of the nrotheast.
- Hillthrope, near the West Haven. It's a small farming community on a raised hill. The town hall is at the top, rather like Edoras in Rohan in the Lord of the Rings.
- East of Hillthrope is Riverbend, which is a river port dealing with most of Hillthrope's crop exports.
- Downriver from Riverbend, to the North, is Greyharbor, the major port of the area. It lies on the ocean next to the desert.
